Luton Roma Trust is pleased to announce that we are being funded for the next three years by the National Lottery Community Fund following a successful application. This major award comes at just the right time for us a charity. Our charity was formed in 2015 in response to the growing number of Eastern European Roma families settling in our town. We have recently secured our own premises in the centre of Luton, right at the heart of where many of our Roma beneficiaries live. We are here to help them integrate into the life of our country. Nearly all our families are now seeking “Settled Status” - they love Luton and want to stay. This National Lottery award has enabled us not just to double the size of our premises, but to increase the size of our professional team to help a local Roma community of at least 2,000 to build a new life in the town they now call home. Indeed many of our children were born in Luton! Our team now includes four Roma staff members and a UK Roma Education Champion. Why not pop in and meet us sometime at Roma Community Centre, 9-10 Crystal House, 39-41 New Bedford Road, Luton LU1 1SE.
